Technology commercialisation and new venture support:
BSVP currently provides new venture advice to the following high
growth start-up businesses under the banner of EgoliBio:
- Nguni Juice:
BSVP was instrumental in securing R 2 million from a BRIC and is
awaiting further negotiations with an additional funder to
inject another R 2 million.
BSVP is assisting Nguni with setup of manufactuing facilities
and management support in brining their new product to market.
- Kitso
BSVP was instrumental in securing R 2 million investment for
Kitso which was awarded to the business late last year.
- Cosmeceutical
BSVP is currently reviewing the business case with Cosmeceutical
to define strategy and identify profitable avenues.
- African Everose
R 5 million has been secured by AE to set up manufacturing
facilities and begin trading. JJ Viljoen is a co-owner of AE and
has been the driving force behind this venture's success
- Emgro Naturology
BSVP is currently reviewing the business case with Emgro to
define strategy and identify profitable avenues.
Intellectual Property Strategy:
We have significant experience in intellectual property
management and provide services to:
- EgoliBio Life Sciences Incubator:
BSVP provides strategic advice and hands on support to the high
growth new product development start-up's in the EgoliBio
incubator. The nature of the products being developed by these
start-ups require different levels of IP protection and crafting
a workable strategy for these growing businesses to enable them
to protect their nich is critical. Furthermore opening up
licensing opportunities in foreign markets is crucial to extend
market reach without building expensive infrastructure and
distribution channels
- The University of Pretoria:
BSVP has a long standing relationship with the University
providing support services from a intellectual property point of
view to negotiate research agreements, protect results, and
license these to industry.
- Add hoc projects
One of BSVP's principals has been invited as associate to the
prestigious USA innovation consulting firm Technology Innovation
Group LLC. The group has international experience in structuring
socially responsible technology transfer and commercialisation
(innovation) projects. The Group provides BSVP with excellent
access to the US market but also to a number of other
international opportunities to transfer technology to and from
South Africa
Other Projects
BSVP is helping the South African Institute of Inventors
refinance and re-brand. Inventors are an important source of
rejuvenation in any nation and the Institute offers exciting
opportunities to young and experienced inventors to learn the trade
and not lose out on their own bright ideas.
